    Muraltia spinosa green fruit

    Muraltia spinosa green fruit
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

These nearly ellipsoid, pale grey-green Muraltia spinosa fruit were seen in August in Namaqualand. Two oblong, round-tipped sepals still flare behind each.

The green, stems are smooth, almost devoid of leaves (Le Roux, et al, 2005).
