1. Navigation among the Albums or searching for a Plant

There is an Album for every South African plant genus represented by at least 12 posts on the Site. The Genera Albums and posts are alphabetically arranged using botanical names. Each post or Album Item consists of a picture with text. Genera for which the number of pictures posted is smaller than 12 are grouped together in the Types Albums, the last one on the list. Three of the Types are actually families, viz. Mesembs, Orchids and Grasses, a quirk of the photos available in the early days of the Site.

The latest Genera Albums added to the Site are the ones on Oscularia, Liparia and Bobartia. This means that photos and stories of plants belonging to these genera already on the Site have been moved from the larger, mostly Types Albums, in their cases Mesembs, Shrubs and Bulbs respectively, together with the new material, to their own new Genera Albums. There are now more than 250 such Genera Albums on this Site. The biggest of the Genera Albums (most photos) are Crassula, Euphorbia, Pelargonium, Aloe and Erica. 

Apart from these Genera and Types Albums introducing plant species, three additional groups of Albums present features of plant life, nature and related topics relevant to South Africa: 

1. Vegetation types in characteristic environments (Habitat Albums),
2. Selected tourist destinations and protected areas of interest to the public (Parks and Gardens Albums), and
3. Geographical regions of the country (Region Albums).
