    Pterygodium nigrescens leaves

    Pterygodium nigrescens leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The numerous leaves of Pterygodium nigrescens are narrowly lance-shaped with pointed tips. They spiral and overlap up the stem. Leaf position is slightly spreading, mainly erect. The leaves sheathe the stem, becoming about 20 cm long.

The photo is from northern KwaZulu-Natal (Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Pooley, 1998).
