    The lower leaves at the base of a Pterygodium nigrescens inflorescence clasp the stem as do the smaller ones higher up. The leaves ascend away from the stem in more pronounced manner low down where they may also become much longer. All of them taper to acutely pointed tips.

    The plant in picture looks more at home among the grasses than do the broad-leaved plants near it (Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
