    Aspalathus sceptrum-aureum leaves

    Aspalathus sceptrum-aureum leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Louis Jordaan

The hairless, three-foliolate leaves of Aspalathus sceptrum-aureum grow in dense clusters covering the stems but below the flowers. The bright green, needle-like leaflets are straight, stiff and spine-tipped (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Moriarty, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
