Aspalathus sceptrum-aureum

Aspalathus sceptrum-aureum, sometimes called the goldensceptre Capegorse, is a single-stemmed, sparsely branched shrub reaching heights from 1 m to 2,5 m.

The species distribution is limited to some Little Karoo lower mountain slopes from near Ladismith to south of Oudtshoorn and to George.

The habitat is fynbos, renosterveld and ecotones of the two in clay soil. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Moriarty, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
