The spurs of Disa porrecta flowers are from 2 cm to 4 cm long, dominant in the floral appearance. The red to orange red spurs become narrow and curve slightly to their yellowish tips.

Down below the open flowers are wider, looking busy with protruding parts including some lateral sepals and a yellow, angular lip. These flowers may attract the mountain pride butterfly, Aeropetes tulbaghia, as pollinator (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
