Although not all open yet, the flowers in this Ixia viridiflora raceme all favour one side in secund fashion. Ixia flowers usually in a spike with no pedicels, there are pedicels present here that ascend, not as green as the stem. The pedicels emerge from behind papery, pointed and keeled bracts positioned in unequal pairs, the inner one smaller and their tips teethed.
The black eye inside each flower shows dull green low down on the half-closed outsides of the perianths, apart from at the top of the inflorescence where the black is on the outside as well (iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
