    Ruschia goodiae flower

    Ruschia goodiae flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The stalked flowers of Ruschia goodiae grow at stem-tips and from leaf axils. The five fleshy sepals are unequal.

The white or occasionally pink petals spread in several whorls around the centre, yellow from many stamens, maybe no staminodes. Some of the narrow, blunt-tipped petals don’t reach full length. Flower diameter is about 3 cm.

Flowering happens late in winter and early in spring (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Smith, et al, 1998; Herre, 1971; iNaturalist).
