    Moraea inclinata flower close-up

    Moraea inclinata flower close-up
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The petal-like style in the Moraea inclinata flower centre has a white inner surface below its three branches that narrow, split and curve in; blue on the outside. The stigmas are situated on the outside of these branches where they split. The three stamens are pressed against the outsides of the style branches, the pollen red as in the photo, about where the stigmas should be (Manning, 2009; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
