    Lapeirousia oreogena erect anthers

    Lapeirousia oreogena erect anthers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The stamens and style stand tall in this Lapeirousia oreogena flower, like a blue and white NASA rocket ready for launching. That is, if it weren’t for anther and style branch curving, probably shrivelling, corolla sagging and all.

Flowering isn’t about travelling, its about home making, unlike seed (Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
