    Cleretum bellidiforme, bokbaaivygies

    Cleretum bellidiforme, bokbaaivygies
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The annual herb, Cleretum bellidiforme, is a mesemb that flowers well in coastal sand (and other places; see the Cleretum Album under Genera).

Seeds dropped months after flowering may bring about eye-catching colonies of these small plants in years when conditions allow. Many flower colours occur, some two-tone pink bokbaaivygies popular and better known than the monocoloured show presented here (Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
