    Lapeirousia divaricata angled flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The short-tubed flower of Lapeirousia divaricata angles up and out. The corolla is up to 3 cm in diameter. The upper lateral tepals are suffused with pink near their midribs, the central lower one near its tip.

The stamens with down-curving granular anthers and the style are white. The three style-branches fork before halfway to their tips.

Bract veins are translucent against the light.

Flowering happens from late winter to after midspring (Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
