    Ferraria variabilis leaves

    Ferraria variabilis leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The basal leaves of Ferraria variabilis grow in an annual tuft, sword-shaped or linear with acutely pointed tips and sheathing the stem. The leaves are grey-green to blue-green and leathery. The vein lines are faint without a dominant central one or midrib (Manning, 2007; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000).
