Adromischus filicaulis subsp. marlothii old flowers

Adromischus filicaulis subsp. marlothii old flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

These recently withered Adromischus filicaulis subsp. marlothii flowers were seen in January near Oudtshoorn. Although they flower in summer, the show was over by the time of the photo.

In flower the corolla tube is yellow-green to brownish green, about 1 cm long. The small, spreading to recurved lobes are then pink. The more durable, short calyces with pointed tips are still green on some flowers in picture, enveloping the ovaries turning into fruit (Frandsen, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
