    Dombeya pulchra flower cluster

    Dombeya pulchra flower cluster
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The Dombeya pulchra flower cluster in picture has hairy green stalks. The long, reflexed sepals are narrow, acutely pointed and pale whitish green.

The rose-pink petal base colouring also shows on the outside of the flower. The long, exserted style has ample curls in its branches.

Some brown, decaying stamens or staminodes (the species has both), are visible inside one flower in the photo taken in March (Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist).
