    Serruria aemula buds

    Serruria aemula buds
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The Serruria aemula stem-tip leaves and bracts around the buds are yellow-green and red-tipped, contrasting against the darker green general foliage.

The stem-tip buds will open into creamy pink flowerheads that are sweetly scented from late winter to early summer (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
