    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The dark, narrow calyx ribs around the base of the Zaluzianskya benthamiana corolla tube reach about a third up its length. The ribs are hairy, the corolla tube fleshy and dull grey, covered in glistening water cells. The petal lobes are maroon on their outsides, the margins cream as on the inside.

Yellow anthers are visible in picture in or just above the corolla mouths. In spite of some leaf damage, the plant shows sparse to rare leaf margin toothing in some cases (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
