Tylecodon reticulatus subsp. reticulatus seeds dispersed

Some stalk-tips still carry Tylecodon reticulatus subsp. reticulatus floral leftovers in the photo… neither the calyces, nor (much of) the corollas, but the gradually discolouring outer walls of what were the ovaries turned fruits, each separated in five carpel husks. In some cases, the softer tissue of what was the corolla still folds over parts of them for now.

The five gracefully curving parts are channelled lower down, thread-like and twisted in their elongated tips. In some cases the loosened dry calyces still hang around the stalks below the dehisced fruit husks, for the wind to play with (Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
