    Ornithoglossum parviflorum var. parviflorum inflorescence
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The unbranched inflorescence of Ornithoglossum parviflorum var. parviflorum comprises a raceme of several, star-shaped, reflexed flowers, subtended by conspicuous, leafy bracts. The flowers nod from longish stalks. They are a little wider than 1 cm in diameter.

Flowering happens from winter to after midspring (Williamson, 2010; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
