    Lapeirousia jacquinii flower

    Lapeirousia jacquinii flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The spoon-shaped Lapeirousia jacquinii tepals curve elegantly in the open flower, as do the corolla tubes in picture.

Styles and stamens are flaunted by these flowers for only a short while before it is another flower’s turn in the sequential flowering performance.

The corolla spreads to a diameter from 15 mm to 18 mm (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
