    This Arctotheca calendula plant sports two open flowerheads apart from some bashful buds revealing their green, involucral back ends and one head that is done flowering, boasting fruit.

    Its honeycombed, whitish receptacle is surrounded by some scaly pappi (or pappuses?), fruit attachments not blown away yet. They are purplish brown but unfortunately not sharply in focus (Manning, 2007).
