    Wiborgia tenuifolia flowering

    Wiborgia tenuifolia flowering
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Wiborgia tenuifolia flowering may be a profuse affair in the first half of spring or so. The inflorescence comprises six to fifteen-flowered racemes. The photo was taken mid-August near Nieuwoudtville in a good Namaqualand flower season.

Younger flowers are sometimes close to white, especially older ones flushed purple to rose (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
