Romulea sabulosa bracts

One of these Romulea sabulosa flowers reveals a subtending bract below the tepal cup. It is pale yellowish green, broad at the base and tapering to its tip.
The young bud to the left has its two bracts still closed and dark green.
The stamens cohere erectly in the flower centre, too short to reach the height of the curving rim of their cup (Manning, 2009; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
