    Felicia merxmuelleri leaves

    Felicia merxmuelleri leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The alternate leaves of Felicia merxmuelleri are widely spaced, ascending stalkless up the purplish stems that are as hairy as themselves.

The long, narrow leaves are oblanceolate with pointed tips and entire margins. The pale green to fresh green blades and stems appear soft-textured. This is often the case in annual herbs capitalising on a recent rainy season for facilitating quick development (Manning, 2009; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
