    Aristea africana plant

    Aristea africana plant
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The branched clump of a mature Aristea africana plant has many short, blue-green leaves with acutely pointed tips.

A few longer, flattened and yellowish stems rise above them. Leaf-like bracts emerge from the branching points. Each small head bears only few flowers (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005).
