    Arctotis acaulis pale pink

    Arctotis acaulis pale pink
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

These light pink Arctotis acaulis ray florets have distinct longitudinal lines converging at their pointed tips. The colouring is stronger near the tips, the blades nearly white low down.

The ray bases have dull yellow patches forming a ring around the disc and thin dark lines protruding into the white areas. There is only one ring of ray florets, although their width causes partial overlap below and over adjacent ones.

The disc is dark, minute yellow dots scattered across its surface (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
