Othonna lobata, a close family or a buried secret

Othonna lobata, a close family or a buried secret
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Jack Lätti

This may be young Othonna lobata growth. The erect leaf clusters are smooth, pale grey-green and mainly channelled on the upper surface. Lobes are starting to grow tentatively on some of the larger ones, disrupting the simple oblong or spoon-shape of the entire margins.

There may be a hidden connection among these seemingly separate plants underground, a branched caudex covered by the sand (iNaturalist)?
