    Massonia depressa sacrificing body parts

    Massonia depressa sacrificing body parts
    Author: Ivan Lätti

This visit is probably not a contribution to pollination. The old Massonia depressa inflorescence has long, triangular, green petals or bracts around the flower centres, while the stamens and probably the stigmas are already quite devastated.

Something worth eating has, however, been discovered. The decorative touch to the fresh salad presented on such a special green plate may have gone unnoticed, as is to be expected when uncouth gourmands visit fancy restaurants. The meal is still scrumptious.
