    The inflated Lessertia frutescens fruits in picture have a dull, pinkish shine. Each fruit has a thread-like white tail at its tip, the persistent style of the flower that was. The calyces that were red during flowering and matching the corollas, have now adopted the fruit colouring, like politicians adapting to new policy.

    The bluish leaflets are white-rimmed, about stalkless and some oblique with bulges low on one side. They are sometimes thinly hairy on the in-folded upper surfaces (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; iNaturalist).
