Lessertia frutescens flowers, red and glossy

Lessertia frutescens flowers, red and glossy
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Jack Lätti

The corolla tips of these Lessertia frutescens flowers curve back as the flowers age. Parallel longitudinal veins are conspicuous on their shiny red surfaces. Also the pointed calyx at the back is red.

The stems are angular and white velvety. The leaf rachises are channelled, stem-like.
