Pelargonium desertorum long-stalked leaves

The Pelargonium desertorum leaves in the photo appear small on their unusually long stalks. Somewhat circular to kidney-shaped, the leaves have slight lobing, exaggerated at the base. The toothing of the margins is variable, slightly rounded to angular. The leaf blade becomes about 2 cm wide, most folding in from the sides.

The pale to fresh green leaves appear smooth, but are densely covered in glandular hairs and sometimes display a dull shine as in the picture. The leaves are summer deciduous, sometimes leaving their long stalks behind for a period when the blades drop off (Williamson, 2010; iNaturalist; www.namibrand.com).
