    Aloidendron dichotomum green fruit

    Aloidendron dichotomum green fruit
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The fruit of Aloidendron dichotomum is a stalked, ovoid capsule of 3 cm long and 1,8 cm in diameter in its centre. The longitudinal seams of the sections along its surface are sunken as on the green fruits in picture. The cup-shaped dry remains of the perianth tends to persist upon it for some time (Reynolds, 1974).
