    Sesamum alatum lower leaves

    Sesamum alatum lower leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Ivan Lätti

The lower leaves of Sesamum alatum are irregularly lobed or divided into three to five leaflets. They grow on stalks from 2 cm to 7 cm long. The lobes may also be 2 cm to 7 cm long and 2 mm to 10 mm wide.

Flowers, green and ripe fruits are all present here, the annual plant very busy as it has only one summer season for producing seed maximally (Pooley, 1998; Onderstall, 1996; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist).
