    Senegalia welwitschii subsp. delagoensis stems

    Senegalia welwitschii subsp. delagoensis stems
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Ivan Lätti

The bark on large, old stems of Senegalia welwitschii subsp. delagoensis becomes rough in texture, yellow-brown or grey-brown in colour. Irregular strips of fissuring and flaking bring the roughness.

Earlier the stem was smoother with mottled grey-green among the different shades of brown (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002; Codd, 1951; iNaturalist).
