    Corymbium glabrum flowers

    Corymbium glabrum flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

A close-up view of the flat-topped Corymbium glabrum inflorescence reveals some detail of the five-lobed disc florets. Pale pinkish-purple, the spreading floret lobes are narrowly oblong to sword-shaped with somewhat rounded tips.

Stamens and styles are exserted above the tiny corollas. The stigma has two ostentatiously curving branches. It seems easier for the visiting insect to become pollen-smeared than fed from these flowers (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
