    The whitish inflorescence of Cyperus obtusiflorus var. obtusiflorus is a compact, terminal cluster of five to twenty flattened spikelets. Two or three green, grass-like bracts can be seen angling down from the flower cluster. Flowering happens in summer (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iSpot).
