    Lobelia coronopifolia flower

    Lobelia coronopifolia flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

One of Lobelia coronopifolia flower colours is dark to bright blue. The membranous, uneven lobes of the larger lower lip fold along their midribs. The two erect lobes of the smaller, upper lip have pointed tips. The stamens are attached to the base of the petals, the anthers joined, all with white hairs at their tips.

There are one to two flowers on each stalk, growing from a stem tip or a leaf axil (Manning, 2007; http://pza.sanbi.org/lobelia).
