    Kedrostis africana flowers and leaves

    Kedrostis africana flowers and leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The small, pale yellow or greenish yellow flowers of Kedrostis africana are five-pointed, growing in small clusters from leaf axils. Flowering happens from late spring to mid-autumn.

The alternate leaves are deeply lobed, the margins sometimes upturned.

There are 25 species of Kedrostis, mostly in Africa, nine of which occur in southern Africa (Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot).
