Profuse flowering will convince fynbos gardeners of the merit of Erica mammosa. It is one of the species commonly found in cultivation.

The plant needs acidic, sandy soil. Grown from seed, there is always the chance that colour variations may result. So, do not plant just one if space is available! The plants tend to grow slowly and last comparatively long (Manning and Helme, 2024; Manning, 2009; Baker and Oliver, 1967; iNaturalist; www.plantzafrica.com).
