Crassula subaphylla var. subaphylla stem tip

Crassula subaphylla var. subaphylla stem tip
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Leaves cluster at the stem-tip of Crassula subaphylla var. subaphylla before the internodes between the decussate leaf-pairs have had a chance to elongate as lower down, spacing them quite far apart. The smooth, hairless surfaces are a pale grey-green, the upper margins and tips red (iSpot; JSTOR).
