    Nemesia fruticans showing spurs
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The yellow cushion-like bulge on the lower lip of the Nemesia fruticans corolla is prominently displayed on flowers seen in profile.

The other flower part shown here that is sometimes missed is the long, horn-like spur pointing down at the back of the corolla. It is a dull grey-green tube closed at the bottom. In picture it has a dark longitudinal line down its slightly curved and round-tipped body (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Manning, 2009; iNaturalist; iSpot).
