    Zygophyllum morgsana dry fruit

    Zygophyllum morgsana dry fruit
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Once the Zygophyllum morgsana fruit has dried it displays these creamy brown to white colours. The veins are opaque among the translucent samara blades of the delicate structure. The stalk curves elaborately to allow the fruit its pendulous pose.

The fruit centre behind the blades where the seed resides becomes prominent as the fruit ages. The four blades are wider than the central part.
