    Satyrium carneum habitat

    Satyrium carneum habitat
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The habitat of Satyrium carneum is dune scrub and coastal fynbos slopes, therefore mostly at low elevations, although it may be found on coastal mountains as well. Both moist and dry conditions suit the plants that grow in various sandy and limestone soils.

This plant responds strongly to fire by blooming abundantly (Liltved and Johnson, 2012; www.plantzafrica.com).
