    Habenaria tysonii inflorescence
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The Habenaria tysonii inflorescence may be lax or dense, becoming about 9 cm long. The flower stalks are nearly horizontal and the ovaries curved down. The ovary plus the pedicel may reach 1,4 cm in length.

The stem leaves, grading into the floral bracts, are lance-shaped with acutely pointed tips. They become 2 cm long, the bracts up to 1 cm (Pooley, 1998; www.africanorchids.dk).
