    Senecio muirii leaves

    Senecio muirii leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The simple leaves of Senecio muirii are succulent although flat. The leaf surface is ovate, the apex tapering to rounded and the base tapering into the short, stubby petiole. The leaf surface is hairless and smooth, a few translucent veins positioned longitudinally upon each. The leaf colour is pale green with a hint of blue. Sparse, pointy marginal teeth are visible on some leaves in the photo (Smith and Crouch, 2009).
