    Searsia dentata new growth
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Ivan Lätti

Fresh stem-tip growth of Searsia dentata may display these yellow-green and brick-red colours with shine in the morning sun.

The upper leaflet is acutely pointed. The margins have big teeth or lobes. Lateral veins ascend from the conspicuous midrib to the tips of the teeth. Many small leaflets are clustered densely right at the tip.
