Disa versicolor pale flowers

This dense Disa versicolor inflorescence does justice to its specific name of versicolor that suggests colour variety, by presenting these less seen pale flower colours. Lower down on the spike the flower hoods that bow modestly are buff coloured; higher up, equally well mannered, they are white.

The browned, withered tips of the bracts below every flower, longer than the flowers themselves, are clearly not agreed upon the proper stance to take in the public eye: some point up, others down while some dither in-between, confirming the absence of a parade ground authority demanding precision (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
