    Disa rungweensis leaves

    Disa rungweensis leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

Disa rungweensis has pointed, narrowly elliptic leaves that sheathe the stem. The basal leaves are long and narrowly lance-shaped, borne semi-erectly. The leaves fold in along the longitudinal axis of their blades. Leaf margins undulate and are sometimes crisped. Stem leaves or cauline leaves reduce in size on the way up (www.orchidspecies.com; www.nyika-vwaza-trust.org).
