    Disa intermedia inflorescence

    Disa intermedia inflorescence
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The lax to somewhat dense inflorescence of Disa intermedia may carry up to 30 small flowers. Contrasting against the green of summer grass in the sun or against the sky, the flowers present a delightful picture although they are small.

Note the colour variations upon the bracts and how thin the ovary of the bud in view at the top of the inflorescence still is (www.sntc.org.sz; www.sntc.org.sz).
